Dr. Lori Gerard
Dr. Lori Gerard is board certified in endocrinology. She received her medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and completed internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Colorado. She served as Chief Medical Resident in internal medicine and completed a fellowship at the University of Colorado with specialty training in diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolism.
Treating all areas of endocrinology, Dr. Gerard specializes in thyroid disease, thyroid cancer, osteoporosis, calcium disorders, pituitary and adrenal disorders, and diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, and Gestational). She has had extensive training on the management and surveillance of thyroid cancer, and special training in thyroid ultrasonography.
Dr. Gerard has been active in research studies involving inhaled insulin therapy, newer insulin analogs, insulin pumps, and continuous glucose monitoring. She is also involved in multidisciplinary studies related to glucose control strategies during pregnancy and improved neonatal outcomes.
When not with patients, Dr. Gerard enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She revels in Colorado’s great outdoors and loves mountain biking and skiing.
Dr. Linda Buckley
Jenna Hannan - Physician Assistant
Jenna Hannan is a board certified Physician Assistant. She received her Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University, majoring in health and exercise science. Jenna then obtained her Master of Science degree from Indiana State University.
Jenna worked as a PA at an Internal Medicine office prior to joining Denver Endocrinology.
Outside of the office, Jenna enjoys running, biking, hiking and skiing.
Stacey Mitchell - Nurse Practitioner
Stacey Mitchell is a board certified Nurse Practitioner, specializing in endocrinology. She received her BA in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado, and later pursued her BSN from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, graduating with honors. She then obtained a Master of Science degree from the University of Colorado, College of Nursing, and became accredited as an Adult Nurse Practitioner.
Stacey worked for eight years as a certified diabetes educator and continues to conduct diabetes research. She participates in multiple aspects of endocrinology care, particularly diabetes and thyroid management. Trained in advanced assessment, diagnosis and management of multiple medical problems, Stacey provides personal care with compassion and attention.
Stacey enjoys tap dancing and spending time with her family. Together, they enjoy the outdoors and camping in the summer.
Emily Griffith - Nurse Practitioner
Emily Griffith is a board-certified Adult and Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. She received a Bachelor of Arts in social sciences from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science of Nursing from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. Later, she completed her Master of Science degree from the University of Colorado.
Prior to joining Denver Endocrinology, Emily worked at the University of Colorado Hospital as a bedside nurse on the inpatient oncology, bone marrow transplant, and medicine
unit. She also served on the hospital’s Diabetes Education Committee.
Outside of her love for patient care, Emily enjoys cooking, traveling, reading, and cheering for Kansas City sports teams. She also likes spending time with friends and family, and anything that gets her out and about in the beautiful Colorado sunshine.
Mimi Waida - Educator
Dr. Kelsi Deaver
Dr. Deaver is a board-certified Endocrinologist, receiving her fellowship training at the University of Colorado. She completed her medical degree at Creighton University and then trained at Exempla Saint Joseph hospital in Denver for her Internal Medicine residency. She is trained in all areas of Endocrinology, and has specific interest in treating thyroid disorders, thyroid cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity, PCOS, transgender health, as well as adrenal, pituitary and calcium/parathyroid disorders. Her research experience includes the evaluation and management of thyroid nodules, hypothyroidism and pituitary tumors.
Dr. Deaver is a Colorado native and enjoys live music, hiking, taking zumba dance classes and walking around the amazing parks of Denver with her family and black labrador Billie.
Dr. Rebecca John
Dr. Rebecca John is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. She completed her specialty fellowship training in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at Rush University in Chicago. Prior to this, she completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Michigan State University after obtaining her medical degree at University of Mysore, India. She moved to Colorado in 2007 from Rochester, New York where she was a practicing clinician on teaching faculty at the University of Rochester and Strong Memorial Hospital. Since her move to Colorado, Dr. John enjoys being in private practice where she is able to provide personalized medical care to her patients.
Dr. John looks forward to providing compassionate and comprehensive consultation in all aspects of general endocrinology/hormone disorders. This includes expert consultation in areas such as diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, thyroid nodules and cancer, adrenal disease, pituitary disorders, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and other hormonal issues related to menstrual cycles. She is certified in ultrasound of the thyroid, and in ultrasound-guided thyroid biopsy. Dr. John is also certified in bone densitometry and will provide consultation regarding bone disease, calcium and parathyroid disorders, and osteoporosis. She likes to prioritize patient education and patient involvement in their own medical decision making.
When not in the office, Dr. John loves to spend time with her husband and 2 daughters hiking and bicycling through many of Colorado’s beautiful trails. Her other interests include paddle boarding, swimming, dancing and art.
